Welcome Team
If today is your first visit to YNCC, we want you to know that we have a team of dedicated individuals who are available at the Welcome Lounge to help answer any questions you might have about our church. The mission of our welcome team is three-fold as the following:
- - To make the best first impression of God and our community on our guests.
- - To make our guests feel welcome
- - To point our guests to the appropriate next step(s)
So, on your next visit to our church, please come by our Welcome Lounge and say hi to our welcome team members and get your questions answered. We also have a special Welcome Kit for all our first-time visitors.
For more information, please contact Sooyoung Lee.
Become a Member
We believe that all believers are called to belong, not just believe. Each of us is called to be a member of the Body of Christ. When we say member, we mean it in the original sense of that word. To be a member means to be a vital organ or a part of a living body—being a hand, foot, heart, lung, etc. We encourage you to go from simply attending YNCC to committing to the YNCC community. The first step to doing so is to become a member.
If you have already been baptized as an adult or baptized as a child and confirmed as an adult at a different Christian church, the first step to becoming a member of YNCC is to attend a membership class, Welcome to God's Family, which is offered through Pathways. At the membership class, you will learn about YNCC's mission, structure, ministries, sacraments, and beliefs of YNCC. After the class, you will have a choice of becoming a member by signing a membership covenant.
If you have not been baptized as an adult or baptized as a child and confirmed as an adult, the first step to becoming a member is to attend the baptism/confirmation class.
YNCC Membership FAQ
Why Should I Become A Member of YNCC?
We are called to become a member of his body—the church. We don't mean member in the sense that one becomes a member of a country club, but member in the sense that we function as an organ—a member--of a living body, an indispensable, interconnected part of the Body of Christ. To put it simply, by God's design you complete me and I complete you.
What's the Difference Between a Member and an Attender?
The main difference is commitment. "Attenders are spectators from the sidelines; members get involved in the ministry. Attenders are consumers; members are contributors. Attenders want the benefits of a church without sharing the responsibility. They are like couples who want to live together without committing to a marriage." (Rick Warren: Purpose Driven Life). Just because you have been attending YNCC regularly does not mean you are registered as a member.
How Do I Become a Registered Member?
By attending the membership class, Welcome to God's Family offered through Pathways.
